BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha weather forecast indicates another spell of unsettled weather, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a yellow warning for multiple districts between August 2 and August 8. The forecast includes thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, gusty winds reaching 30 to 40 kmph, and spells of heavy rainfall across different parts of the state.
The IMD has advised residents to monitor official weather updates and exercise caution during periods of intense weather activity.

Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds are also expected across several northern, coastal and southern districts during this period.
Heavy Rain Likely to Continue Till August 8
The IMD has forecast continued rainfall during the second half of the warning period.
- August 6: Heavy rain likely in Mayurbhanj, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput and Gajapati.
- August 7: Heavy rainfall expected in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, Rayagada and Koraput.
- August 8: Heavy rain likely in Nabarangpur, Rayagada and Koraput.
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds may also occur in several of these districts.
Odisha Weather Forecast Advises Caution
The IMD has advised people to remain alert, avoid open fields and water bodies during thunderstorms, and follow official weather advisories issued by local authorities. Residents in districts under the yellow warning have been urged to take necessary precautions, particularly in areas prone to waterlogging, lightning and strong winds.
