Operation Shiv Shakti: Indian Army Kills 2 Terrorists in Poonch, Search Operation Ongoing

Published on

Poonch: The Indian Army eliminated two terrorists in a swift and precise anti-infiltration operation near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir. Dubbed Operation Shiv Shakti, the action was part of India’s continued efforts to thwart cross-border infiltration and neutralize terror threats in the region.

According to an official statement by the Army’s White Knight Corps, the terrorists were attempting to infiltrate into Indian territory when alert troops acted swiftly, backed by synchronised intelligence inputs from military and Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) sources.

“Swift action and accurate firepower thwarted the nefarious designs,” the Army said, adding that three weapons have been recovered from the slain terrorists.

Follows Success of Operation Mahadev

This operation follows the recent success of Operation Mahadev, in which three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists were neutralised in the Lidwas area of Pahalgam on July 28. The slain militants, identified as Suleiman alias Hashim Musa, Yasir @ Jibran, and Abu Hamza Afghani, were all affiliated with The Resistance Front (TRF) — a shadow outfit of LeT based in Pakistan.

Security forces launched that operation based on a tip-off on July 27, and engaged the terrorists in a fierce gunfight in steep, forested terrain. The successful back-to-back operations signal the Army’s intensified crackdown on terror groups operating from across the border.

Security Tightened in the Region

With back-to-back operations—Operation Mahadev and now Operation Shiv Shakti—the security grid along the LoC and hinterland has been significantly tightened. The Indian Army remains vigilant, with ground and aerial surveillance intensified in the region.

As Operation Shiv Shakti continues, the Indian Army remains committed to neutralizing terror threats in J&K. The synergy between intelligence agencies and security forces has once again proven vital in safeguarding India’s territorial integrity and protecting civilian life.
