Panasonic Exits Key Appliance Segments in India; GX Group Ties Up with Ingram Micro

In a major shift in its product strategy, Panasonic has decided to exit the refrigerator and washing machine segments in India, signaling a possible restructuring of its consumer appliance portfolio in the country.

In a separate development, broadband gear maker GX Group announced a strategic partnership with Ingram Micro India to ship broadband equipment to Southeast Asian markets. The collaboration is aimed at expanding GX Group’s international footprint and enhancing its presence in the fast-growing digital infrastructure space in the region.

Panasonic Restructures Product Strategy in India

The exit of Panasonic from two major household appliance categories comes amidst evolving market dynamics and competitive pressure. The company may now shift focus to more profitable or strategic segments, although an official statement regarding its broader plans is yet to be released.

GX Group Expands Global Reach Through Ingram Micro Partnership

GX Group, one of the 42 companies selected under India’s Telecom Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, sees the partnership with Ingram Micro as a significant step toward scaling operations.

“We are incredibly enthusiastic about the immense opportunities this collaboration with Ingram Micro will unlock for our partners and customers across Southeast Asia,” said Sambit Swain, Director of Global Sales, GX Group.

The partnership is expected to strengthen the supply chain and distribution network for broadband equipment in countries with rising demand for digital connectivity.
