PM Modi to Flag Off Amritsar–Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Vande Bharat Express on August 10

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually flag off the Amritsar–Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Vande Bharat Express on August 10, enhancing fast and comfortable travel between Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir.

According to a senior official from the Jammu rail division, train No. 26406 will operate from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Amritsar, while train No. 26405 will run in the reverse direction. The service will be available six days a week, excluding Tuesdays.

Amritsar–Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Vande Bharat Express

Train No. 26406 will depart from Katra at 6:40 a.m. and arrive in Amritsar at 12:20 p.m., halting at Jammu, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar City, and Vyas. The return service will leave Amritsar at 4:25 p.m. and reach Katra at 10 p.m., offering a convenient travel option for pilgrims and tourists.

Economic Boost with New Rail Cargo Facility in Anantnag

In a separate development, Northern Railway has opened Anantnag railway station in the Kashmir Valley for goods transportation. Operating daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., the station will handle all types of commodities except petroleum products. Officials say the move will promote economic activities in the region by providing businesses with a faster and more reliable transportation network.
