NEW DELHI: The PM Modi Viksit Bharat vision received fresh emphasis as Prime Minister Narendra Modi directed government departments to ensure that every reform directly benefits citizens. Chairing a high-level review meeting with secretaries from key ministries, he said governance reforms must improve public services while helping India move faster towards becoming a developed nation.

The meeting reflected the government’s broader effort to improve coordination across ministries, modernise governance systems and prepare the country for emerging economic and social challenges. The discussions covered rural development, agriculture, social welfare, youth empowerment and future employment opportunities.

PM Modi Viksit Bharat Focuses on Citizen-Centric Governance

During the meeting at the Prime Minister’s residence, Modi said governance systems must evolve with changing national and global requirements. He urged ministries and departments to identify future needs in advance so that policies remain effective and responsive.

The Prime Minister stressed that reforms should not remain limited to administrative efficiency. Instead, they should deliver measurable improvements in the lives of citizens while strengthening India’s long-term development agenda.

He also called for greater collaboration among ministries, saying a whole-of-government approach would help achieve national priorities more effectively. According to him, the Viksit Bharat vision should become a people’s movement, with young Indians playing a leading role.

Government Reviews Youth, Agriculture and Sports Priorities

Modi highlighted the need for stronger institutional coordination to address drug abuse among young people. He said departments working on youth welfare should integrate their efforts to create more effective prevention and awareness programmes.

On sports, the Prime Minister advocated a unified strategy to establish India as a global sporting destination. He encouraged the promotion of sports tourism, technological innovation and startup-driven solutions while working towards hosting major international sporting events.

He also reviewed the role of the PM-KUSUM Scheme in strengthening agriculture through wider adoption of solar-powered infrastructure by farmers. In addition, he called for mapping global skill requirements so that India’s workforce can better match future international employment opportunities.

The meeting underscored the government’s focus on preparing India for future growth by aligning governance reforms with citizens’ needs. By emphasising coordinated policymaking, youth participation, agricultural modernisation and workforce development, the Centre aims to build a stronger foundation for achieving the Viksit Bharat vision in the years ahead.
