Rajasthan Police Arrests Jaisalmer Official for Spying for Pakistan

Published on

The Intelligence Branch of Rajasthan Police has arrested Shakoor Khan, an Assistant Administrative Officer at the Employment Office in Jaisalmer, for allegedly spying for Pakistan. He is accused of leaking confidential and strategically important information to Pakistan-based handlers.

Long-Term Surveillance Confirms Suspicious Activities

According to Inspector General of Police (CID Security) Vishnu Kant Gupta, Khan had been under surveillance for an extended period due to suspicious behaviour. His movements and communications were being monitored closely by security agencies.

Links with Pakistan Embassy and ISI Agents

Investigations revealed that Khan maintained regular contact with Pakistani nationals, specifically Ahsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish and Sohail Qamar, who are reportedly associated with the Pakistan Embassy. Authorities confirmed that Khan had visited Pakistan multiple times and was in direct contact with agents of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

High Alert and Further Investigation Underway

The arrest has raised serious security concerns, especially given the strategic significance of the Jaisalmer region. The case is being probed further to determine the full extent of the intelligence breach and possible network links.
