New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday distributed more than 61,000 Rozgar Mela appointment letters to newly recruited young citizens during the 18th edition of the employment drive in New Delhi.
Addressing the programme virtually, Modi called the letters not just job offers but a powerful opportunity to contribute directly to India’s growth.
PM Modi Calls Rozgar Mela Jobs an Invitation to Nation-Building
Speaking to recruits, the Prime Minister said the start of the new year has brought a new “spring” into their lives, linking the moment with Basant Panchami celebrations.
He reminded the youth that their responsibilities are now tied to the Constitution, especially during the Republic celebrations.
Modi also referenced Parakram Diwas, observed on Subhash Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary, and National Voters’ Day, further underlining the national importance of duty and service.
61,000 Youth Join Key Government Departments
The Rozgar Mela event was attended by Union Minister Jitendra Singh along with senior officials from the IPS, CRPF and defence services.
Modi said the recruits will strengthen crucial sectors including:
- National defence and security
- Healthcare services
- Education and administration
- Energy and infrastructure development
He described the recruitment drive as a collective “resolve to accelerate India to new heights.”
Rozgar Melas Now Held Across 40+ Locations
Congratulating the newly appointed candidates, PM Modi said connecting youth with skills and employment has remained a core priority of his government.
He noted that Rozgar Mela was launched in “mission mode” to speed up recruitment across government departments.

According to him, lakhs of youth have already received appointment letters through this platform, with Rozgar Melas now organised at more than 40 venues nationwide.
India’s Youth Advantage and Global Employment Opportunities
Highlighting India’s demographic strength, Modi said the country is among the youngest nations globally and is working to expand job opportunities through international agreements.
He mentioned that trade and mobility pacts with countries in Europe and North America are helping create new pathways for youth employment.
He added that Free Trade Agreements with the US, UK and EU are currently under discussion, while an FTA with New Zealand was finalised in December 2025.
Startups, Digital India and Creator Economy Driving Jobs
The Prime Minister also pointed to India’s expanding startup ecosystem and Digital India initiative as major employment engines.
He said India now has nearly two lakh registered startups, employing over 21 lakh young people.
Modi noted that India is becoming a global hub for emerging industries such as:
- Animation and digital media
- Technology-driven services
- Creator economy and online platforms
These sectors, he said, are opening new doors for the next generation of India’s workforce.

PM Modi concluded by encouraging newly appointed youth to embrace this opportunity as part of national service.
