Russia Launches Massive Strike on Ukrainian Military Sites

Published on

Russia conducted a massive overnight strike targeting Ukraine’s military-industrial complex, using a combination of high-precision air, ground, sea-launched weapons, and drones, according to a statement by the Russian Defence Ministry. The ministry claimed that all designated targets were successfully hit.

Heavy Drone and Missile Assault

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported on Telegram that the Russian attack involved over 300 drones and more than 30 cruise missiles, primarily impacting the Odesa region, where one person was killed and six others injured, as per Xinhua news agency.

Meanwhile, Russia said it successfully intercepted 71 Ukrainian drones during the night, and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed that 13 drones were shot down near the capital.

Russia Signals Openness to Renewed Peace Talks

Despite the intensifying military conflict, the Kremlin has signaled willingness to resume peace negotiations with Ukraine. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated on Monday that while Russia is ready for a third round of talks, Kyiv appears to be delaying discussions.

“Kyiv is clearly taking its time. We still await proposals concerning the timelines,” Peskov said.

Deputy Foreign Minister Reaffirms Diplomatic Channel

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin, who participated in earlier negotiations held in Istanbul, reiterated in an interview with Izvestia that Russia is prepared to continue direct talks with Ukraine.

“There is an understanding that direct Russian-Ukrainian negotiations will continue,” Galuzin stated, reinforcing Russia’s diplomatic stance amid the ongoing war.

This development comes as the conflict shows no signs of de-escalation, with both sides intensifying offensive operations and drone warfare.
