The Higher Education Department of Odisha has officially extended the deadline for submission of the Common Application Form (CAF) for SAMS Odisha +3 Admissions 2025. Aspiring undergraduate students can now complete their registrations online at samsodisha.gov.in until June 1, 2025.

CAF Editing Window Opens from May 21

As per the updated schedule, OTP-based editing of already submitted applications will commence on May 21 and remain open until the new deadline. During this window, candidates will be able to modify application details and upload their +2 or equivalent marks.

For students who passed under the CHSE Odisha board, marks will be auto-fetched from the official database. Candidates from other education boards will need to enter their marks manually within the portal during the editing period.

11.25% SEBC Reservation Announced

In a significant update, the state government has approved a proposal to introduce 11.25% reservation for candidates from the Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) in undergraduate admissions. This new policy will be implemented from the 2025–26 academic session and will apply to all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) under the department’s jurisdiction.

Seat Allotment Based on Subject Preference

Admissions will continue to be processed based on candidates’ subject preferences and merit, as per the norms outlined in the SAMS portal.

• For single major programmes, allotment will be made based on the selected major.
• For double major combinations, the first major will be considered.
• For three minor combinations, allotment will be done under the General stream.

Further subject mapping will be processed based on student preferences and institutional-level counselling mechanisms.
