Stock Market Today: Nifty Reclaims 24,700, Sensex Rises 419 Points as Markets Rebound

In a strong recovery after a two-day slide, Indian stock markets bounced back sharply on Monday, with the Sensex rising 419 points to close at 81,019, and the Nifty 50 climbing 157 points to settle at 24,723. The rebound was led by broad-based buying, with strong performances across sectors, especially in metals and realty.

Stock Market Today: Mid & Small Caps Outperform Blue Chips

Broader markets at the Bombay Stock Exchange outshone the benchmark indices.

  • BSE MidCap index gained 1.1%
  • BSE SmallCap index added over 0.7%

Out of the 30 Sensex stocks, 26 ended in the green.

  • Tata Steel led the rally with a 4.3% surge
  • Bharat Electronics rose 3.5%
  • Asian Paints gained 1.8%

However, Power Grid, HDFC Bank, and ICICI Bank were among the top laggards, shedding up to 1.1%.

Sector Watch: Metals, Realty, and Commodities Shine

Of the 21 sectoral indices on BSE, 19 closed in positive territory.

  • Metal index soared 2.6%
  • Realty index rose 1.9%
  • Commodities added 1.8%

Meanwhile, FMCG and Bankex ended flat amid muted interest.
