Stock Market Today: Sensex Surges 447 Points, Nifty50 Ends Above 24,800 Amid Broad-Based Buying

Stock Market Today: Indian equity indices rebounded strongly on Tuesday, snapping a three-day losing streak, buoyed by gains in Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, and other heavyweights. The Nifty50 index rose 140.20 points (0.57%) to close at 24,821.10, while the BSE Sensex climbed 446.93 points (0.55%) to settle at 81,337.95.

During intraday trade, the Sensex surged as much as 538.86 points, touching a high of 81,429.88.

Reliance, HDFC Bank Lead Gains: Key Highlights of Stock Market Today

Among top Sensex performers, Reliance Industries jumped 2.21%, followed by gains in Larsen & Toubro, Asian Paints, Tata Motors, Adani Ports, Tata Steel, Maruti Suzuki, Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Finance, and HDFC Bank.

Losers on the index included Axis Bank, Tata Consultancy Services, Titan, and ITC, which saw marginal declines.

Sector-wise performance showed broad positivity:

  • Metal, pharma, and realty led the rally
  • IT, financials, and FMCG sectors lagged due to weak Q1 results

Expert View: Market Outlook Remains Cautiously Optimistic

Despite uncertainties around US–India trade talks, markets saw a modest recovery from intraday lows. While FIIs remained net sellers, most sectors closed in the green.

  • August 1 reciprocal tariff deadline
  • Monthly F&O expiry
  • Ongoing Q1 results

Resistance for Nifty50 is expected around 25,000 to 25,100 in the near term.
