Union Home Minister Amit Shah Begins Two-Day Visit to Chhattisgarh

Published on

Raipur/Narayanpur: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has embarked on a two-day visit to Chhattisgarh, where he is scheduled to attend a series of high-level programs in Raipur and Narayanpur district.

On the first day of his visit, Mr. Shah will lay the foundation stone for the National Forensic Sciences University and the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Raipur. The university will be developed across 40 acres of land at an estimated cost of ₹400 crore. The institution aims to strengthen forensic science education and research capabilities in the region.

Later today, Mr. Shah will hold a strategic security review meeting with the Directors General and Additional Directors General of Police from Chhattisgarh and neighbouring states. The focus will be on inter-state coordination and addressing Left Wing Extremism (LWE) challenges.

Tomorrow, on the second day of his visit, the Union Home Minister will travel to Abujhmad in the Narayanpur district of the Bastar division—one of the most remote and LWE-affected areas in the country. There, he will interact with local villagers as part of the government’s outreach and development initiatives in tribal regions.

He will also visit the Border Security Force (BSF) camp in the Irkbhatti area of Narayanpur, where he will engage directly with jawans deployed in this sensitive zone.

The visit underscores the central government’s commitment to improving internal security, enhancing infrastructure for forensic science and policing, and promoting development in insurgency-affected regions of the country.
