Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw: India becomes second largest 5G market in the world
New Delhi: Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, stated that India is now the world’s second largest 5G market.
Addressing an event in New Delhi today, the Minister stressed that as a result of the government’s efforts, numerous industries are undergoing profound transformation. He also stated that investments of almost 11 lakh crore are being made in various areas.
Mr. Vaishnaw further stated that Indian Railways would become the second largest carrier with 1.6 billion tons this year, and ports are expanding at a rapid pace.
He noted that electronic production in the country was tiny ten years ago, but it is now one of the top export goods.
The Minister further stated that the number of medical institutions and IITs in the country has doubled in the last ten years. Mr. Vaishnaw stated that both the South and the rich countries are prepared to accept India’s UPI payment system.
The Minister also revealed that India will launch its first ‘Made in India’ chip this year.
