Vladimir Putin Backs India and China: “You Cannot Talk to India, China Like That” Amid Trump’s Tariff Pressure

Published on

Tianjin, China: Russian President Vladimir Putin has strongly defended India and China while responding to global economic tensions triggered by U.S. tariff pressure. Speaking to reporters in China after attending Beijing’s military parade on Wednesday, Putin emphasized that both India and China are major economic powers and deserve respect in global diplomacy.

Putin on India and China’s Role in Global Economy

While addressing the media, President Vladimir Putin firmly stated that “you cannot talk to India or China like that”, highlighting that these countries are economic giants in their own right. His remarks were seen as a clear signal against the unilateral pressure tactics being applied on emerging economies.

Vladimir Putin’s Message on Multipolar World Order

Putin further underlined the importance of equality in the modern global system. He said that in today’s multipolar world, every country holds equal rights. Referring to India and China, he noted that economic strength should not translate into global dominance, nor should any one nation control international politics or security.

“No Domination, Only Equality,” Says Putin

In a separate statement, the Russian President stressed Russia’s position against any form of dominance. “We don’t believe there should be some domination. Everyone must be equal,” he declared, reinforcing Moscow’s long-standing support for a balanced world order where nations like India and China play pivotal roles.

Global Implications of Putin’s Statement

Putin’s remarks come at a crucial time, as both India and China are facing rising tariff pressure from the U.S. under Donald Trump’s trade policies. His comments are expected to strengthen the India-Russia-China alignment in the emerging global economic structure, while sending a strong diplomatic message to the West.
