At the M.S. Swaminathan centenary conference, the Prime Minister reflected on Dr. Swaminathan’s remarkable legacy and his deep impact on Indian agriculture. He noted that the ideas and innovations of the legendary scientist still shape modern agricultural practices in India.
Modi also mentioned the honor of awarding Dr. Swaminathan the Bharat Ratna posthumously. In addition, he pointed out that India’s handloom sector has seen a major revival over the past decade, gaining strength and recognition nationwide under government initiatives.
