New Delhi: Marking 11 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, BJP National President and Union Minister JP Nadda on Monday outlined the government’s major achievements since 2014, ranging from economic growth and poverty alleviation to bold reforms in Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking at a press conference, Nadda said the Modi government had transformed the political and developmental landscape of India through a visionary, inclusive, and accountable governance model.
Highlights from JP Nadda’s Address
India’s Economic Leap
Nadda praised PM Modi’s role in propelling India’s economy from 10th to 5th largest globally, and soon to be 4th as per IMF projections. He added, “India has consistently been the world’s fastest-growing economy under Modi’s leadership.” Empowerment of Marginalised Communities
He underlined the government’s welfare focus for SC, ST, OBC, and women, citing initiatives like:
- Lakhpati Didi Yojana
- Expansion of Self-Help Groups (SHGs)
- Maternity leave extended from 12 to 26 weeks
- Promoting Women-Led Development, with women excelling in areas like space exploration (e.g., Chandrayaan)
Welfare for the Poor
Claiming a major dent in poverty, Nadda said:
“25 crore people have risen above the poverty line. Extreme poverty has reduced by 80%. This isn’t just a slogan — it’s evidence of real, on-ground transformation.”
Changing Political Culture
According to Nadda, the Modi era has ended the politics of appeasement and ushered in a “politics of performance”. He said, “The idea of report-card politics and transparency has replaced the old culture of divisive governance.”
COVID-19 Response
Nadda hailed the Modi government’s decisive handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially the world’s largest free vaccination drive, with 220 crore doses administered. Key missions like Operation Ganga, Devi Shakti, and Vaccine Maitri were also noted.
Chenab Bridge Completion
He credited PM Modi for completing the Chenab Railway Bridge in Jammu and Kashmir, a project whose foundation was laid in 1995. It was finally inaugurated on June 6, 2025.
Anti-Corruption & Positive Outlook
Nadda said the Modi-led government has replaced corruption and pessimism with trust and positivity:
“Before 2014, corruption was rampant. Now, people say with confidence — ‘Modi hai to mumkin hai’.”
Vision for Viksit Bharat (Developed India)
Reiterating the government’s commitment to transformation, he said:
“Our policies follow the perform, transform, reform model. The mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas is the foundation of our development.”
Reforms in Jammu & Kashmir
A major highlight was the abrogation of Article 370, which Nadda called a “historic feat”. He cited the high voter turnout in both Lok Sabha (58.46%) and Assembly elections (63%) as proof of increased political integration.
