14 killed and 12 people injured in Kenya road accident

Nairobi: Kenya road accident: Fourteen people died and Twelve others were injured in a road accident on a busy road in Kenya’s Turkana district, police confirmed on Sunday.

Turkana Central Sub-county Police Commander Lemmy Njiru said the accident happened around 10pm. on Saturday when a truck driver lost control of the vehicle while avoiding a collision with a camel on the Lodwar-Kakuma highway, Xinhua News Agency reported.

Kenyan road safety enforcers blame the increase in road deaths on speeding and drink driving. The accident is under investigation.
