Tel Aviv: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Wednesday that it has achieved operational control over nearly 75% of Gaza, intensifying its ground offensive under Operation Gideon’s Chariot. The military claimed to have eliminated around 2,000 terrorists, including senior Hamas commanders, while striking approximately 10,000 terror targets from air, land, and sea.

IDF Says 75% of Gaza Under Control

According to a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), the IDF asserted that its troops have dismantled Hamas’ terrorist infrastructure and weakened its chain of command. Key military corridors — “Morag” and “Magen Oz” — have been established to expand Israeli operations across Gaza, with simultaneous efforts targeting terror tunnels, strongholds, and weapons depots.

10,000 Terror Targets Struck in Gaza Offensive

The IDF reported that nearly 10,000 Hamas-linked sites, including underground bunkers, command centers, and rocket-launching facilities, have been destroyed. The military claimed these actions are aimed at dismantling Hamas’ operational capabilities and cutting off supply routes.

60,000 Reserve Orders Issued by IDF

As part of its preparation for the next phase of the operation, the IDF confirmed issuing 60,000 new reserve orders on Wednesday morning. Additionally, 20,000 reservists already deployed will see their service extended, following approval from Israel’s Ministry of Defence.

Next Phase of Operation Gideon’s Chariot

According to Israeli officials cited by The Times of Israel, the next stage of Operation Gideon’s Chariot includes:

Expanding control over Gaza territory
Relocating Palestinian civilians to southern Gaza
Targeting Hamas’ command and operational centers
Preventing Hamas from seizing humanitarian aid

The IDF emphasized that its current actions are laying the groundwork for “intensifying pressure on Hamas” and ensuring long-term security control in Gaza.
