PM Modi in Bodhgaya: Slams RJD-Congress on Intruders, Launches Demography Mission
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched a sharp attack on the opposition while addressing a massive public rally at Magadh University Ground in Bodhgaya, Bihar. He accused the RJD and Congress of supporting intruders for vote bank politics and appeasement.
PM Modi Bodhgaya speech: Allegations on RJD and Congress
The Prime Minister alleged that intruders are responsible for stealing jobs from the youth of Bihar and altering the state’s demographic profile. He expressed serious concern about the increasing number of intruders, especially in frontier districts.
Mr. Modi announced that the government is preparing to launch a Demography Mission aimed at identifying and eliminating intruders from the system. He stated that this mission will safeguard the interests of Bihar’s citizens and strengthen national security.
Anti-corruption bill and opposition’s fear
In his address, the Prime Minister criticized RJD, Congress, Left parties, and other opposition groups for opposing the proposed anti-corruption bill. The bill carries strict provisions that could lead to the removal of Prime Ministers, Chief Ministers, or ministers from office if found guilty of corruption and jailed for over 30 days.
Mr. Modi said opposition leaders fear the bill because many of them are already out on bail in corruption cases. He asserted that the bill will crush the ambitions of the corrupt and bring transparency in governance.
PM Modi Bodhgaya speech: Operation Sindoor and defence policy
Highlighting national security, the Prime Minister referred to Operation Sindoor, a resolution passed in Bihar and executed as part of the country’s defence strategy. He said the operation has redrawn the contours of India’s defence policy and sent a strong message to enemies of the nation.
Development projects and schemes in Bihar
Earlier in the day, Mr. Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of several development projects worth more than ₹13,000 crore in Bihar. These included a six-lane bridge over the Ganga, a 660 MW thermal power plant, a sewerage treatment plant (STP), and key road projects.
The Prime Minister also spoke about the PM Vikshit Bharat Rojgar Yojana, designed to support young jobseekers. Under the scheme, the government will provide an assistance of ₹15,000 for youths entering their first job. He said the “double-engine government” is fully committed to Bihar’s growth and prosperity.
