OPSC to Fill 151 OAS Posts to OCSE 2025 After CM Mohan Majhi’s Intervention

OCSE 2025 notification revised as OAS, ORS and other key services get new vacancies following aspirants’ concerns

Published on

Bhubaneswar: The OCSE 2025 additional posts announcement brought major relief to civil services aspirants in Odisha after the state government on Saturday confirmed that 151 more vacancies will be filled under the Odisha Civil Services Examination 2025. The decision followed direct intervention by Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, who acted swiftly after concerns were raised over missing vacancies in key services.

The move comes in response to dissatisfaction among candidates after the Odisha Public Service Commission issued the OCSE 2025 notification without announcing posts in crucial cadres, triggering widespread disappointment among aspirants preparing for the competitive examination.

OCSE 2025 Additional Posts Approved After Aspirant Backlash

The OPSC had recently released the official OCSE 2025 notification, but the absence of vacancies in major cadres such as the Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) and Odisha Revenue Service (ORS) quickly drew criticism. Aspirants expressed concern that the lack of opportunities in these services would significantly limit career prospects through the examination.

Responding to the issue, Chief Minister Majhi personally reviewed the vacancy position across departments and directed officials to ensure that all eligible posts were included in the recruitment process. Following his instructions, the state government asked the OPSC to immediately incorporate the missing vacancies into the OCSE 2025 framework.

OAS, ORS and Other Services Get Fresh Vacancies

As per the revised decision, the OPSC will now fill 14 posts in the Odisha Administrative Service and 113 posts in the Odisha Revenue Service. In addition, 16 vacancies have been approved for the Odisha Transport Service (OTS), while 8 posts will be filled in the Odisha Welfare Service (OWS).

These additions take the total number of newly approved vacancies to 151, significantly expanding the scope of OCSE 2025 and restoring confidence among aspirants who had raised objections after the initial notification.

Recruitment Given Top Priority by Odisha Government

Chief Minister Majhi said the Odisha government is giving the highest priority to recruitment across departments. He highlighted that nearly 40,000 government positions have already been filled over the past 18 months, reflecting the administration’s commitment to strengthening the workforce.

He further directed all state departments to recommend filling up every existing sanctioned vacancy through appropriate recruitment commissions. The Chief Minister stressed that no approved post should remain vacant up to the date of publication of examination notifications, ensuring transparency and fairness in future recruitment drives.

Revised OCSE 2025 Expected to Boost Aspirant Confidence

The inclusion of additional vacancies is expected to significantly boost participation and morale among civil services aspirants in Odisha. Education experts believe the expanded vacancy list will make OCSE 2025 more competitive and credible, aligning it with the expectations of candidates preparing for state services.

With the OCSE 2025 additional posts now officially approved, aspirants are hopeful that the revised recruitment process will proceed smoothly, reinforcing trust in the examination system and the state government’s responsiveness.
