Lucknow: Swami Avimukteshwaranand cow ban ultimatum has intensified political and religious debate in Uttar Pradesh after he issued a strong warning to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Speaking at a press conference in Varanasi, the Shankaracharya demanded that the state government officially declare the cow as the “Mother of the State” and enforce a complete ban on beef exports within the next 40 days.
Swami Avimukteshwaranand Sets 40-Day Deadline for Cow Protection
Swami Avimukteshwaranand stated that if the Uttar Pradesh government fails to implement stricter cow protection laws, he will publicly denounce CM Yogi as a “fake Hindu.”
The declaration is expected to be made at a saints’ gathering scheduled in Lucknow on March 10-11.
He stressed that cow slaughter and meat exports must be fully prohibited as part of Hindu religious commitments.
Tensions Rise Between Shankaracharya and UP Government
The saint compared the current situation to the events of 1966, alleging harassment similar to what religious leader Karpatri Ji Maharaj faced in the past.
He claimed that CM Yogi and his close associate Rambhadracharya were working against him and attempting to undermine his position.
