Bhubaneswar: The Subhadra Yojana fourth installment Odisha was released on Sunday as the state government distributed ₹5,000 crore to women beneficiaries across the state. The announcement was made by Mohan Charan Majhi during a public event held in Talabania in Puri district.
The financial assistance under the scheme will reach 1,02,12,665 women, making it one of the largest direct benefit transfers aimed at women’s welfare in the state.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida also attended the programme.

The funds were distributed to mark International Women’s Day, highlighting the state government’s focus on women’s economic empowerment.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi congratulated women across Odisha and said the government will continue efforts to strengthen their financial independence.
“Today is a special day for all of us. Congratulations and best wishes to the women of Odisha,” he said.

According to the Chief Minister, ₹15,000 crore had already been disbursed in the first three installments of the scheme.
With the release of the latest ₹5,000 crore installment, the total amount distributed under the programme has now reached ₹20,000 crore.
Majhi also said the scheme has helped create millions of success stories, claiming that nearly 17 lakh women in Odisha have become millionaires due to improved financial opportunities.
