Statue of Lord Shiva: The world’s tallest Shiva statue to be unveiled in Nathdwara

Nathdwara: Statue of Lord Shiva: The world’s tallest Shiva statue will be inaugurated on October 29, 2022. The 369-feet tall large figure named Vishwas Swaroopam is visible from a distance of 20 kilometers. Morari Bapu, a spiritual guide and religious preacher from Gujarat, would inaugurate the 369-foot-tall monument of Lord Shiva in Nathdwara town of the Rajsamand district. At this dedication ceremony Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Assembly Speaker CP Joshi.

Built on Ganesh Tekri of Nathdwara, this statue is built on an area of 51 bighas on a hill. In this statue, Lord Shiva is seated in a meditative posture. The height of the statue is such that it can be seen for several kilometers. Special lights were also arranged for this statue to make it well visible even at night.

Also interesting is the story behind this 369 feet tall statue which has become the tallest Shiva statue in the world. According to a media report, when the plan to build this statue was drawn up in 2012, it was planned to keep its height at 251 feet. But later, its height reached 351 feet. A plan was then made to put the stream of the Ganges in Shiva’s hair, then his height reached 369 feet.
Elevators, stairs, halls, etc. were also made in this statue. 3000 tons of steel and iron, 2.5 lakh cubic tons of concrete and sand were used in the construction. Even a wind blowing at a speed of 250 km will not affect the statue. Statue of Belief’ was visualized by Mr. Madan Paliwal, Chairman, Miraj Group, Udaipur. The concept was further developed by Studio Maturam Art which designed the 351 feet high statue, while the structural design was provided by Skeleton Consultants and the work began in early 2016.
