Mumbai: Three suspects in the alleged firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s car have been arrested at Kota railway station in Rajasthan. The arrests followed coordination between Mumbai Police and Rajasthan Police as investigators tracked the suspects’ movements after the incident.
A joint team of the Rajasthan Anti-Gangster Task Force and Kota City Police reportedly apprehended the three accused while they were travelling on the Pune-Jaipur Express.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis confirmed that information shared by Mumbai Police helped Rajasthan Police trace and arrest the suspects. According to his statement, the accused had travelled towards Surat before boarding the train.
Who Are the Three Suspects?
The three accused have been identified as a 17-year-old minor from Sonipat in Haryana, Hritik Kumar, 22, also known as Roshan, and Rehan, 18, from Sonipat.
Kumar originally belongs to Begusarai district in Bihar and was reportedly living in Mumbai’s Andheri West area, where he worked as a Rapido rider.
Investigators suspect that two of the accused were involved in carrying out the shooting, while the third allegedly helped them escape. Their individual roles and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain subject to investigation.
The minor’s involvement also means that the legal process applicable to juveniles may be relevant to the case.
What Happened in the Juhu Firing Incident?
The firing reportedly took place on Sunday evening, October 18, in Mumbai’s Juhu area. Unidentified assailants allegedly targeted the vehicle associated with Shroff.
The actor escaped without serious injury, while his driver and another person were reported to have sustained injuries.
Following the incident, Mumbai Police launched a search for those responsible. Investigators subsequently shared information about the suspects’ movements with Rajasthan Police, leading to their arrest in Kota.
The case has attracted attention because of the reported targeting of a prominent Bollywood personality and the interstate police operation that followed.
Maharashtra Government Promises Strict Action
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Shroff at his residence in Mumbai’s Bandra area late Sunday night. He checked on the actor’s condition, spoke with his family and assured them that appropriate security arrangements would be provided.
Shinde also warned that gang-related violence would not be tolerated in Mumbai and said those responsible for the firing would face legal action.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis similarly highlighted the coordination between police forces that led to the arrests.
Investigation Continues
Investigators are expected to examine the alleged roles of the three accused, establish the motive behind the firing and determine whether others were involved in planning or facilitating the incident.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting and the suspects’ movements after leaving Mumbai will also be important parts of the investigation.
Although the arrests mark a significant development, the allegations against the accused must be established through the legal process. Their guilt has not been determined by a court.
