Operational Demonstration On Navy Day celebrated

New Delhi: Navy day is celebrated on December 4 in India every year. Navy Day to recognize the role of the Indian Navy and commemorate its achievements in “Operation Trident” during the 1971 Indo-Pak War.

This year, as India launches ‘Amrit Kaal’ to kick off its 75 years of independence celebrations, the Indian Navy is all set to showcase India’s combat prowess and capabilities through an ‘Operational Demonstration’ in Visakhapatnam on Sunday, December 4.

Honorary President of India and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Smt. Draupadi Murmu will witness the event as the guest of honor. The event, which will be hosted by Admiral R Hari Kumar, Chief of Naval Staff. It is expected to be attended by several dignitaries from the central and state governments.

Navy Day celebrations are traditionally held in New Delhi in the presence of the Hon’ble President and other dignitaries. This year, for the first time, Navy Day celebrations are held outside the capital.

Indian naval ships, submarines, aircraft and special forces from the Eastern, Western and Southern Naval Commands would showcase the capabilities and versatility of the Indian Navy. The event culminates with a sunset ceremony and lighting of the boats in the anchorage.

Navy day is celebrated on aimed at promoting greater outreach, renewing maritime awareness among our citizens, and highlighting the Navy’s contributions to national security.
