New Delhi: Since 2014, the Narendra Modi-led government’s diplomatic efforts have facilitated the release and pardon of over 10,000 Indians jailed abroad, officials confirmed on Friday. An official, as reported by PTI, stated that under PM Modi’s leadership, the welfare of Indian citizens overseas has been a priority, leading to their safe return through diplomatic negotiations and high-level interventions. The UAE’s recent decision to pardon around 500 Indian prisoners during Ramzan highlights the strong diplomatic ties between India and the Gulf nation, officials added.

“These successful interventions underscore India’s growing global diplomatic stature and the Modi government’s unwavering commitment to protecting the Indian citizens abroad,” the official added.
