IMD forecasts heavy rainfall in North East, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Kerala & Goa

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall over several northeastern states today, including Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.

Rainfall Expected in Multiple Regions

In addition to the Northeast, parts of Delhi, Arunachal Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, Goa, Punjab, and Uttarakhand are also likely to experience heavy rainfall throughout the day.

Thundersquall Warning for North and Central India

The IMD has also issued a warning for thundersqualls with wind speeds reaching 50–60 km/h in regions including Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, and West Madhya Pradesh. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions against strong winds and lightning.

Hot and Humid Conditions in Southern and Eastern States

Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal are expected to experience hot and humid weather conditions until tomorrow. High temperatures and moisture levels may lead to discomfort and heat stress.

Dust Storm Alert in Rajasthan

Parts of Rajasthan are likely to witness dust storms today, further impacting visibility and air quality in the region.
