Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced a strategic partnership with Kitakyushu City of Japan to advance green innovation, urban development, and inclusive economic growth. The collaboration includes the revitalisation of the Musi River, one of the key urban sustainability projects in the state.
MoU Signed to Strengthen Bilateral Ties
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed yesterday in Hyderabad between representatives of the Telangana government and Kitakyushu city administration. The agreement was formalised in the presence of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Kitakyushu Mayor Kazuhisa Takechi, who is visiting the state for Telangana State Formation Day celebrations.
Green, Zero-Emission, and Youth Skilling Initiatives
The MoU emphasizes cooperation in areas such as zero-emission initiatives, urban innovation, and youth skilling. As part of the partnership, the Telangana government will introduce Japanese language training for students, enabling them to explore education and job opportunities in Japan.
Plans for Direct Air Connectivity
To further strengthen ties, the Chief Minister revealed that efforts are underway to establish direct air connectivity between Hyderabad and Kitakyushu, making cultural and economic exchanges more seamless.
“This partnership reflects our vision for a greener, more connected, and opportunity-driven Telangana,” said CM Revanth Reddy.
