AAIB Begins Probe Into Air India Crash in Ahmedabad; Tata Group Announces Support

The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has launched an official investigation into the recent Air India crash in Ahmedabad that killed 241 people. The government has assured that the inquiry will adhere to global aviation safety standards.

AAIB to Conduct Probe as per International Guidelines

Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu stated that the AAIB’s investigation will follow protocols established by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). A high-level committee of multidisciplinary experts is being formed to thoroughly examine the incident and recommend safety improvements to prevent future aviation mishaps.

Tata Group Announces Ex-Gratia and Medical Support

In a compassionate gesture, Tata Group Chairman N Chandrasekaran announced financial aid of ₹1 crore for the families of each deceased victim. He also confirmed that the conglomerate will bear the complete medical costs of the injured and ensure proper treatment and support. Furthermore, the Tata Group will fund the construction of a new hostel at BJ Medical College, where several students lost their lives in the crash.

Home Minister Visits Injured Victims at Trauma Centre

Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the Trauma Centre at Ahmedabad Civil Hospital, where many of the injured are being treated. During his visit, he reviewed emergency medical arrangements and interacted with healthcare staff and officials involved in relief operations.
