All-party Delegation: India’s zero tolerance message on terrorism echoes worldwide

Published on

India’s firm stance of zero tolerance towards terrorism is resonating globally, as multi-party Indian delegations engage in continuous discussions with international leaders, lawmakers, think tanks, media, and civil society groups. These interactions aim to expose Pakistan’s long-standing involvement in cross-border terrorism and rally global support for India’s position.

In Panama, an all-party delegation led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor met with Panama Assembly President Dana Castaneda. During the meeting, Mr. Tharoor clarified that India does not seek war but believes that acts of terrorism must face consequences. He referenced India’s targeted strikes on terrorist bases following Pakistan’s inaction after the Pahalgam terror attack. Tharoor emphasized the unity of the delegation, comprising members from various political ideologies and regions, all united in the national interest.

He called on Panama to support India in its anti-terrorism efforts and urged the international community to apply pressure on those harboring terrorists to ensure justice. Tharoor also pointed out that Pakistan’s aggressive posture towards India stems from its desire to claim sovereign Indian territory, repeatedly resorting to acts of terrorism to advance its goals.

Meanwhile, in South Africa, another all-party Indian delegation, led by Supriya Sule of the NCP (SCP), highlighted India’s unwavering commitment to countering cross-border terrorism. The delegation explained that Operation Sindoor was a measured and proportionate response to terror activities, showcasing India’s strategic restraint and firm resolve. They urged the global community to stop making distinctions between terrorists and their sponsors, and to dismantle the terror infrastructure that has targeted India for decades.

The delegation also engaged with the Indian diaspora in South Africa, underlining the strong bipartisan consensus in India against terrorism. They reiterated that national unity and collective resolve are essential in the fight against terrorism. The delegation is scheduled to hold further meetings in Cape Town with South African parliamentarians and government ministers to strengthen diplomatic collaboration.
