Operation Sindoor Sparks Unprecedented Nationalism: VP Dhankhar

Published on

Vice-President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar recently emphasized the critical importance of indigenous strength in securing national safety. Addressing participants at the inaugural session of the Rajya Sabha Internship Programme in New Delhi, he stated that while war should always be avoided, peace is best ensured through readiness and strength. He underscored that this strength should not be measured solely by technological advancements or military capability, but also by the resilience and unity of the nation’s people.

He further elaborated that genuine security arises from a state of preparedness, where a nation stands strong not only in arms but in character and collective spirit. Mr. Dhankhar stressed the need for internal fortitude, highlighting that national strength lies as much in civic awareness and unity as in defense systems. His remarks pointed to a broader vision of national defense that includes social cohesion and patriotic commitment.

Reflecting on the recent military operation, Operation Sindoor, the Vice-President noted its transformative impact on the national psyche. He remarked that the operation has significantly shifted public perception, fostering an unprecedented wave of nationalism across the country. According to him, this shift has instilled a sense of urgency to stay vigilant and united in the face of emerging challenges.

In light of current events, Mr. Dhankhar asserted that the nation has no choice but to stand together and grow stronger collectively. He appealed to all citizens to embrace a spirit of national unity and responsibility, emphasizing that political and institutional entities alike bear a moral obligation to prioritize the national interest over partisan differences.

Concluding his address, the Vice-President called on the entire political spectrum to engage in serious reflection and to work toward consensus on matters vital to the nation. He urged for unified positions on issues of national security, economic growth, and internal stability, reinforcing that only through consensus can India achieve lasting peace and progress.
