Bhubaneswar: A heartbreaking incident occurred in Khandagiri, Bhubaneswar, where an elderly man lost his life after being hit and dragged by an Ama bus, which then fled the scene.
The tragedy sparked outrage among local residents, who staged a roadblock protest by placing the victim’s body on the street. The situation turned tense as some protesters threw stones at the bus, breaking its windows, and creating widespread chaos in the area.
Residents have repeatedly raised concerns about the reckless driving of Mo Bus operators, with several similar fatal accidents reported earlier this year.
While officials have yet to release a statement, the incident has renewed demands for improved traffic regulation and greater accountability in Odisha’s capital.
