New Delhi: The Bharat Innovation and Business Ideas Challenge has emerged as a key platform driving India’s next wave of deep-tech and sustainable entrepreneurship, as the 2026 edition concluded with six startups being named winners. The national initiative, jointly driven by FICCI and Mercedes-Benz India, aims to identify, mentor and scale high-potential ventures aligned with India’s long-term development priorities.
Launched in December 2025, the programme attracted strong participation from across the country, focusing on manufacturing, sustainability, decarbonisation, electric mobility and education.
Six Startups Emerge as Winners From 32 Finalists
From a pool of 32 shortlisted finalists, the jury selected six startups for their technological depth, scalability and real-world impact. The winners are CarbonM Fuelmax Technology Private Limited, Exobot, AmpCycle, Dexsent Robotics Private Limited, CALLX RINGERS PRIVATE LIMITED and X Able.
Organisers said the selected startups demonstrated not only innovation but also a clear sense of purpose in solving pressing industrial, environmental and societal challenges.
Mercedes-Benz India Highlights Innovation as National Strength
Addressing the award ceremony, Vyankatesh Kulkarni, Executive Director and Head of Operations at Mercedes-Benz India, said innovation in India has evolved into a national strength driven by curiosity, courage and problem-solving.
He noted that the challenge reflects Mercedes-Benz India’s commitment to nurturing responsible entrepreneurship and collaborating with emerging innovators to shape the future of mobility and sustainable industry. Kulkarni added that the shortlisted startups have the potential to transform industries and enhance India’s global competitiveness in advanced technologies.
FICCI Emphasises Industry–Startup Collaboration
FICCI highlighted that the initiative was conceptualised to bridge gaps between startups, investors, corporates and policymakers. By offering visibility, mentorship and financial incentives, the programme seeks to help startups build scalable and commercially viable business models.
Industry leaders said such platforms are critical to creating an innovation ecosystem where ideas can move from concept to market with institutional support.
Policy Boost With ₹10,000 Crore Fund of Funds Announcement
The event also witnessed the announcement of a ₹10,000 crore Fund of Funds for Startups by the government, a move welcomed by industry representatives as a major boost to capital access for early- and growth-stage ventures.
Representatives from FICCI and Mercedes-Benz India said strong policy backing, combined with structured corporate engagement, can significantly accelerate the growth of innovation-led enterprises and strengthen India’s position as a global hub for deep-tech and sustainable solutions.
With its focus on mentoring, funding and collaboration, the Bharat Innovation and Business Ideas Challenge is increasingly being seen as a catalyst for India’s startup-driven economic transformation.
