Bolivian President Thanks India for Donating 3 Lakh Measles-Rubella Vaccine Doses Amid Health Emergency

Published on

Bolivian President Luis Alberto Arce Catacora has expressed deep gratitude to the Government of India for its timely and generous donation of 300,000 doses of the Measles and Rubella (MR) vaccine.

In an official message, President Arce hailed India’s support as a symbol of solidarity and humanitarian cooperation at a crucial time, as Bolivia faces a worsening measles outbreak.

He emphasised that the vaccines would play a critical role in strengthening Bolivia’s mass immunisation drive, particularly for children aged 1 to 14 years, who are at high risk during the ongoing public health crisis.

Bolivia had declared a National Health Emergency on June 23, following a sharp surge in measles cases reported across multiple regions. In a swift response, India dispatched not just MR vaccines but also necessary ancillary medical supplies to aid the campaign.

President Arce’s message reflects the growing cooperation between developing nations in the global fight against preventable diseases and underscores India’s expanding role in global health diplomacy.
