CM Majhi Unveils ₹275 Crore Projects in Bhadrak; Announces Massive Industrial Investment Drive

Published on

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 13 major developmental projects worth approximately ₹275 crore in Balia Pada, Bhadrak district. Of the total, nine projects were inaugurated, while four new initiatives saw their foundation stones laid.

Development Projects and Key Announcements

Out of the 13 projects, nine were inaugurated while foundation stones were laid for four new initiatives. In a significant move for the education and health sectors, CM Majhi announced the establishment of a government university and a much-awaited medical college in Bhadrak. The foundation stone for the medical college will be laid soon.

Major Industrial Investments Announced

The Chief Minister revealed that Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) will invest ₹4,377 crore to set up a state-of-the-art Technical Textile Complex in Bhadrak. Additionally, MCPI Private Limited will invest ₹2,224 crore to set up an HMLS polyester manufacturing unit. These projects are poised to generate employment and strengthen the district’s industrial landscape.

Cultural Preservation and Heritage Enhancement

Majhi announced the beautification of all martyr memorial sites in Bhadrak, aiming to honor the region’s revolutionary history and enhance its cultural and heritage appeal.

Government’s Development Milestones Highlighted

Addressing the gathering, the CM said his government has accelerated Bhadrak’s development since taking office. He highlighted key government initiatives over the past year, including:

  • Launch of Subhadra Yojana
  • ₹800/quintal increase in paddy procurement prices
  • Opening of all four gates of the Jagannath Temple
  • Creation of a ₹500 crore corpus fund for temple rituals and services

He added that a comprehensive report on the government’s one-year achievements will be released to the public on June 12.

Livelihood, Employment, and Vision for Odisha

Majhi emphasized the government’s focus on boosting livelihoods and employment through agriculture, allied sectors, and industrialization. He criticized the previous regime, stating they “spent 24 years painting pictures of development without delivering tangible results,” and promised real, measurable progress under the current leadership.

Industrial Revolution Underway

Under the “Utkarsa Odisha” initiative, Majhi highlighted that projects worth over ₹80,000 crore have been launched within 120 days. Notably, on May 22 alone, 10 mega projects totaling ₹1.65 lakh crore received approvals—signaling the onset of a new industrial revolution in Odisha.

“Every district, including Bhadrak, will play a crucial role in this transformative journey,” the CM said, concluding that true development in Odisha has just begun.
