EAM Jaishankar thanks Central Asian nations for support on Pahalgam attack

External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar today expressed gratitude to the Central Asian nations for their continued support to India and their condemnation of the heinous terror attack in Pahalgam. 

Addressing the 4th meeting of the India-Central Asia Dialogue in New Delhi, Dr. Jaishankar said that India remains the trusted development partner to the Central Asian Countries. He underscored that trade, economic and investment ties between India and Central Asian countries have strengthened significantly over the last decade. 

Dr. Jaishankar also reaffirmed India’s role as a trusted development partner for the Central Asian region. He emphasised that both India and the Central Asian countries remain committed to advancing mutually beneficial cooperation across a wide range of sectors. 

Dr Jaishankar further highlighted that today, India is connected with its Central Asian partners through multiple direct flights and enhanced connectivity, which facilitates greater two-way tourist flows and business. He also said that both India and the Central Asian countries are committed to advancing the mutually beneficial cooperation across all sectors, particularly in trade and investment, defence, agro-processing, textiles, pharmaceuticals, regional connectivity, security, education, among others.

The India-Central Asia Dialogue is being attended by the  Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
