Ganjam: Three Family Members Found Dead After Poison Consumption

Published on

Three members of a family lost their lives after consuming poison in Palibandha village, under Rambha police limits in Ganjam district, on Monday night.

The victims included a 40-year-old mother, her 16-year-old daughter, and her 22-year-old son.

The tragic incident came to light early in the morning when a neighbor visited their house and found the doors locked. After repeated knocks went unanswered, the neighbor, with the help of others, forced entry into the house. To their shock, they discovered the three family members lying unconscious.

The victims were immediately rushed to Chhatrapur Hospital and later transferred to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur, where doctors confirmed their deaths.

Initial investigations suggest that the deaths may have resulted from a family dispute, with reports indicating that the three consumed pesticides to take their own lives.

Upon receiving information, police launched an investigation, and further details will be disclosed once the post-mortem report is available.
