Haiwaan Sunday Occupancy

The Hindi 2D version recorded an overall theatre occupancy of 17.13 per cent on Sunday.

Evening shows registered the highest occupancy at 22.92 per cent, while night shows recorded 19.69 per cent. Despite these stronger show timings, the film’s total Sunday earnings remained below its Friday and Saturday figures.

The film’s current domestic gross collection stands at ₹8.80 crore.

Haiwaan Worldwide Box Office Collection

The film also recorded earnings from international markets during its opening weekend. Haiwaan collected ₹75 lakh overseas on Sunday, taking its cumulative overseas gross to ₹2.75 crore.

Adding the domestic gross of ₹8.80 crore to the overseas gross, the film’s worldwide collection reached ₹11.55 crore by the end of its opening weekend.

Haiwaan Overseas Performance

The overseas gross collection after three days stands at ₹2.75 crore. The Sunday contribution of ₹75 lakh formed part of this cumulative figure.

While the international market provided an additional revenue stream, the film’s overall opening weekend remained modest compared with the expectations attached to its lead cast.

What Is Haiwaan About?

Directed as an official remake of the Malayalam film Oppam, Haiwaan centres on a murder investigation involving a retired judge and his visually impaired caretaker.

Saif Ali Khan plays Shyam Rane, a maintenance worker who relies on his heightened senses to deal with the events following the murder of retired Judge Pradhan, played by Boman Irani.

After being framed for the murder, Shyam attempts to avoid law enforcement while searching for Nandini, the judge’s hidden daughter, whom he is determined to protect.

Akshay Kumar plays Parshuram, a vengeful killer pursuing Nandini. His pursuit becomes the main source of conflict as Shyam uncovers unexpected revelations while trying to keep her safe.

Haiwaan Gets Mixed Critical Response

Haiwaan has received mixed critical responses following its theatrical release. The film brings Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan together in a thriller while adapting the story of Oppam for Hindi audiences.

Despite the star power, the film’s opening weekend showed a decline in daily domestic earnings, with Sunday recording the lowest collection of the three-day period.

The film’s performance in the coming days will determine whether it can build stronger momentum after its modest opening weekend.
