India vs Afghanistan T20I Series Begins in Delhi

India enter the series with a strong record against Afghanistan in the shortest format.

The two teams have faced each other nine times in T20Is, with India winning eight matches. One match ended without a result.

The opening game at the Arun Jaitley Stadium will therefore be closely watched as the new-look Indian side begins the three-match series.

Shreyas Iyer to Lead India

Iyer will take charge of the Indian team, while Tilak Varma will serve as vice-captain.

The inclusion of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi adds further interest to the squad, with the teenage batter getting an opportunity to be part of the T20I setup.

The second and third matches of the series are scheduled at the same Delhi venue on Tuesday and Thursday.

Delhi Traffic Advisory for India vs Afghanistan Match

The first T20I is taking place on the same day as the second and final day of the BRICS Summit, prompting Delhi Traffic Police to issue a special advisory for spectators.

Traffic restrictions, diversions and parking regulations will be implemented in and around the Arun Jaitley Stadium and parts of central Delhi from 2 PM onwards.

Spectators travelling to the match have been advised to plan their journeys in advance and consider alternative routes.

Spectators Advised to Use Designated Points

Delhi Traffic Police has asked spectators to use only designated stadium entry points, parking areas and authorised app-based taxi pick-up and drop-off locations.

With both a major international summit and a high-profile cricket match taking place in Delhi, commuters may face restrictions and diversions on several roads.

Fans attending the India vs Afghanistan T20I are therefore advised to leave early, follow traffic police instructions and use public transport or alternate routes where possible.
