India Issues Fresh Travel Advisory for Iran Amid Escalating Middle East Tensions

Published on

Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, the Indian Embassy in Iran has issued a fresh travel advisory, urging Indian citizens to avoid all non-essential travel to Iran. The advisory, released on Wednesday, cites ongoing security concerns and regional instability.

Embassy Warns Against Unnecessary Travel to Iran

The Indian Embassy, through its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, highlighted the rising threat levels in the region and urged Indian nationals currently in Iran to remain vigilant. The embassy emphasized the importance of staying informed about security developments and recommended using commercial flights or ferry services to leave the country if necessary.

Indian Nationals Urged to Stay Updated

The embassy has instructed Indian citizens in Iran to regularly monitor developments in the region and adhere to updates from Indian authorities. “In view of the security-related developments over the past several weeks, Indian nationals are advised to carefully consider the evolving situation before undertaking non-essential travel to Iran,” the advisory stated.

Regional Conflict Intensifies

The advisory comes in the wake of increased conflict in the Middle East, especially between Iran and Israel. On June 22, the United States and Israel reportedly launched joint airstrikes targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. These strikes were retaliatory, following Iranian drone and missile attacks on Israeli targets. The conflict intensified after Israel launched ‘Operation Rising Lion’ on June 13, aimed at dismantling Iranian nuclear infrastructure.
