IPL 2025: SRH vs RR, Ishan Kishan, Travis Head Onslaught, Sunrisers Hyderabad won by 44 runs

IPL 2025: SRH vs RR: As if the Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma onslaught wasn’t enough, SRH has introduced Ishan Kishan, who has wasted no time settling in. Kishan hits his maiden IPL century, scoring 106 off just 47 balls* at a blazing strike rate of 225.53. Six sixes later, it’s clear: he’s already mastered the SRH strategy of persistent striking.

Riyan Parag, the Rajasthan Royals’ stand-in skipper, had a nightmare after winning the toss and electing to bowl. His bowlers had no answers as Hyderabad transformed the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium into a personal batting playground.

Sunrisers achieved their fourth 250-plus total in only 17.4 overs, making it the 11th highest total in IPL history. After Ishan Kishan scored a 45-ball century, SRH fell one short of their record total of 287 on 286/6.

The Rajasthan Royals (RR) lost by 44 runs to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 opener. However, the margin of defeat does not properly represent the intensity of the game; RR managed to score a whopping 242 while chasing, but still fell short by a significant margin.

Ishan Kishan reveals to be the right match for Hyderabad

Kishan’s maiden innings for the Sunrisers was everything he and the club could have wished for, with a century in 45 balls and a match-winning performance of 106* off 47 balls, including 11 fours and six sixes. This wasn’t just about the massive score; it was about his dominance in scoring those runs and terrorising the bowlers.

It was a statement of intent: Kishan is the ideal fit for the Sunrisers, who have adopted an ultra-aggressive batting strategy since last season and spent Rs 11.4 crore on the Jahrkahnd player, who has since fallen out of favour with the BCCI.
