Tel Aviv: In a swift escalation, Iran launched over 30 ballistic missiles at Israel early today in response to recent US airstrikes on its nuclear facilities at Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordo. The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) confirmed that several areas in central Israel, including Haifa, were struck during the overnight attack.

Haifa Hit Without Sirens, Alert System Under Scrutiny

One of the most alarming incidents occurred in Haifa, where a missile landed without triggering any warning sirens. The unexpected impact has raised serious concerns about potential gaps or failures in Israel’s missile alert system, especially in critical zones.

16 Injured, Including Two Children

According to Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s national emergency service, 16 civilians were injured, including two children. Emergency teams are actively responding to over 10 impact sites, treating casualties and assessing damage from the missile blasts and shrapnel.

Sirens Triggered in Other Regions, Citizens Take Shelter

In other parts of the country, air raid sirens did sound in time, prompting residents to seek shelter as per instructions from the Home Front Command. The sudden and widespread missile barrage has further heightened tensions in the already volatile Middle East region.
