Kargil Vijay Diwas 2025: President Murmu and PM Modi Pay Tribute to Brave Soldiers

New Delhi: On the solemn occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid heartfelt tributes to the brave Indian soldiers who laid down their lives in the 1999 Kargil War to protect the nation’s sovereignty.

President Hails Soldiers’ Unmatched Courage

President Murmu, in her tribute, said that Kargil Vijay Diwas stands as a symbol of the extraordinary valour, determination, and sacrifice of India’s armed forces. She added that the supreme dedication of the soldiers will continue to inspire generations of Indians and remain etched in the nation’s collective memory.

PM Modi: A Day to Remember the Brave

Prime Minister Narendra Modi echoed similar sentiments, describing the day as a reminder of the unmatched courage and passion of those who gave their lives to safeguard the pride and honour of the motherland. He said that their spirit of sacrifice will motivate every generation to serve the nation selflessly.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Pays Homage

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also paid tribute, recalling the extraordinary bravery and resilience shown by Indian soldiers while defending the country in the harshest terrains during the Kargil conflict. He emphasized that India will be forever indebted to their supreme sacrifice, which represents the unshakable resolve of the Armed Forces.

The 26th of July is annually observed as Kargil Vijay Diwas to commemorate India’s victory over Pakistani intruders in the 1999 Kargil War, honouring the lives lost in the service of the nation.
