Bhubaneswar: The LPG petrol diesel supply in Odisha remains stable, the state government said on Thursday while urging people not to panic about the availability of cooking gas and fuel.

Krushna Chandra Patra chaired a high level meeting at Lokseva Bhavan to review the supply chain and stock levels of essential fuels across the state.

According to an official statement, the minister conducted a detailed review of the distribution process involving LPG distributors and fuel retail outlets to ensure uninterrupted supply to consumers.

LPG Petrol Diesel Supply in Odisha Under Daily Monitoring

During the meeting, officials were directed to remain vigilant so that consumers do not face any inconvenience.

District collectors have been instructed to submit daily reports on the availability and requirement of LPG, petrol and diesel in their respective areas.

The review meeting was attended by senior officials including Sanjay Kumar Singh and K. Sudarshan Chakraborty.

Representatives from major oil companies also participated, including:

  • Indian Oil Corporation Limited
  • Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited
  • Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited
  • Reliance Industries
  • GAIL

The data suggests the government is closely coordinating with fuel companies to maintain uninterrupted distribution.

Warning Against Hoarding and Black Marketing

The minister issued a strong warning against hoarding and illegal sale of fuel and cooking gas.

Officials have been deployed to conduct raids, and strict legal action will be taken against anyone found involved in black marketing.

What the government is trying to prevent is panic buying or artificial shortages that could disrupt normal supply chains.

Monitoring Fuel Supply to Hospitals and Institutions

Officials have also been instructed to monitor fuel availability at sensitive locations such as hospitals and educational institutions.

The government has specifically asked authorities to ensure uninterrupted supply to facilities including SCB Medical College and Hospital.

Political Tensions Over LPG Price Hike

The issue also triggered political reactions in the Odisha Legislative Assembly.

Opposition legislators from the Biju Janata Dal and the Indian National Congress created a ruckus over the recent increase in LPG cylinder prices and alleged shortages of cooking gas.

The protests disrupted proceedings and led to multiple adjournments of the Assembly on Thursday.

Government Urges People Not to Panic

Despite global uncertainties and concerns linked to developments in West Asia, the Odisha government has reassured residents that fuel supplies remain adequate.

Authorities have urged citizens to remain calm and avoid panic buying while the government continues monitoring the situation across all districts.
