LS Speaker Om Birla Urges All Parties to Ensure Smooth Functioning of Monsoon Session

Published on

New Delhi: Ahead of the Monsoon Session of Parliament, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has called upon floor leaders of all parties and Members of Parliament to actively cooperate in ensuring smooth proceedings in the House.

In a message shared on social media, Birla highlighted the importance of Parliament as the voice of the people, saying that the collective responsibility of members is crucial for reflecting public aspirations and safeguarding national interests.

Call for Constructive Dialogue

Mr. Birla urged leaders to engage in constructive debate and meaningful dialogue, promoting a healthy democratic environment.

“Let us ensure that the House takes concrete steps for inclusive development, social justice, and economic growth,” he said.

He expressed hope that the Monsoon Session will be productive and purposeful, fostering discussions that uphold constitutional values, unity in diversity, and democratic integrity.

A Push for Unity in the House

As recent sessions have often been marked by frequent disruptions and walkouts, the Speaker’s appeal aims to encourage all political parties to prioritise governance over confrontation during the session.
