Man Dies in Blast While Making Firecracker in Ganjam District

A tragic incident was reported from Ganjam district of Odisha where a man lost his life in a firecracker blast on Monday. The explosion occurred in Kaithada village under Khallikote Police Station limits. The deceased has been identified as Pintu Palei.

Firecracker Blast in Ganjam Odisha Claims One Life

According to reports, Pintu Palei was engaged in making firecrackers illegally when the blast took place. The sudden explosion caused severe injuries, leaving one of his hands and one leg critically burnt. Locals rushed to the spot after hearing the loud sound and immediately shifted him to the nearby Khallikote hospital for treatment.

Victim Succumbs to Burn Injuries During Treatment

Despite the medical team’s efforts, Pintu Palei succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday morning while undergoing treatment. The extent of his burns was reportedly very severe, which led to his untimely death.

Police Launch Investigation into Firecracker Blast in Ganjam Odisha

Following the incident, police have begun an investigation to determine the cause of the explosion and whether any other individuals were involved in the illegal firecracker manufacturing activity. The authorities are also checking if the materials used were stored without permission and have urged citizens to avoid handling explosive substances without proper authorization.

Authorities Warn Against Illegal Firecracker Manufacturing

Local administration officials have reminded the public that unauthorized production or storage of fireworks is strictly prohibited due to the high risk of accidents. Safety measures and legal permissions are mandatory for making or selling firecrackers, especially around festive seasons.
