The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out search operations at 15 locations in eight states—Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Assam, and West Bengal—in connection with a Pakistan-linked espionage case. The searches targeted suspects associated with Pakistan Intelligence Operatives (PIOs).
The NIA seized multiple electronic devices, sensitive financial documents, and other incriminating materials. According to the agency, the individuals involved had ties with Pakistani operatives and functioned as financial conduits for espionage activities in India.
The case was registered after the arrest of a person found sharing classified information with PIOs since 2023, in exchange for funds transferred through various Indian channels. The investigation is ongoing.
