Nifty ends below 18000, Sensex 631 points

Mumbai: Indian stock market ended lower for the second trading day of the week. The Sensex was down 631 points (1.04 percent) at 60,115. Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty was down 187 points (1.03 percent) at 17,914. Nifty has not made any directional measure in the last 13 sessions, today is one of the slowest periods in January.

Today’s stock market trading started with a downtrend. At 09:48, the Sensex fell 304.45 points to 60,442.86. The Nifty was down 81.40 points at 18,019.80 on the national bourse. After recovering from last week’s series of declines on Monday, Indian stock markets fell again today.

Indian equity markets closed lower environment in global markets and indications that the US Federal Reserve may raise interest rates. The Sensex fell as much as 800 points to 59,938 during trading hours. The Nifty fell over 200 points to 17,856.

At the end of today’s trading hours, the Sensex fell 631.83 points to 60,115.48. At the same time, the Nifty fell by 187.05 points to 17,914.15.
Similarly, today in the stock market Bharti Airtel, Eicher Motors, Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, and SBI are the top losers on the Nifty. But good news for Tata Motors, Hindalco Industries, Apollo Hospitals, Power Grid Corp and Divis Labs are the gainers.
