The 26-year-old, granddaughter of the legendary Hawa Singh, defeated Uzbekistan’s Oltinoy Sotimboeva to storm into the semi-finals of the women’s +80kg category.
Nupur, who entered the competition directly in the quarterfinals, battled through a scrappy contest but prevailed 4-1 against her Uzbek opponent, ensuring at least a bronze medal finish for India.
