Odisha Assembly Monsoon Session 2026 Has Nine Working Days

The session will have a relatively compact legislative calendar, with proceedings scheduled across nine working days.

September 26 and 27 have been marked as no-meeting days, while October 2 has been kept as a holiday on account of Gandhi Jayanti.

The proposed calendar was sent by Assembly Secretary Satyabrata Rout to the Principal Secretary of the Parliamentary Affairs Department.

Rout has also requested that necessary action be taken to approach the Governor for formally summoning the session if the government agrees to the proposed starting date.

What to Expect From the Odisha Assembly Session

The Monsoon Session will provide an opportunity for the state government to present official business and for legislators to raise issues concerning governance and public affairs.

The nine-day working schedule means the proceedings could see focused discussions on matters placed before the House during the session.

The final programme, however, will depend on the formal summoning of the Assembly and any subsequent changes approved by the competent authorities.

The proposed September 22 to October 3 schedule therefore gives legislators, departments and political parties an early framework for preparing for the upcoming session.
